"The highlight of my trip was when we went to a Fijian school. It was pretty special to see how much it meant to the kids that we were there. It was a really good experience for all our boys and we all really enjoyed it."
“The experience was great. When we initially planned to do something for the boys, a camp or a trip somewhere, we were thinking about ourselves and our team. This actually got us out thinking of others and that was the best part. I could see that this tour had a bigger picture to it. It was about developing the code and the boys giving something back, it was about them getting out of their comfort zone. It was really good to see the boys not just showing gratitude but opening up and realising it’s not just about us”.
“The highlight of the tour was definitely hanging out with the West Fiji Dolphins boys, at training and on game day. Especially after game day when they sung to us it was something pretty special that I will remember for the rest of my life”.
“The students have learnt a lot from warming up to cool downs and the sports activities that have been played by the students for the past five weeks. For a school with less sports time having you for a longer period of time will be a bonus in the near future.”
“It has helped me as a teacher to develop new strategies for teaching physical education so that the children will enjoy the lesson.”
“The programme is really beneficial. It teaches the children the foundations of physical activity like sportsmanship, teamwork, healthy lifestyle and determination. I really thank the Petero Civoniceva Foundation for choosing our school and hope in future there would be more programmes organised in our school. Thank you very much!”
“This programme is useful and one that ensures students get out of the classroom and into a more lively and physical setting. It is one that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for our battle against NCD’s in Fiji.”
“The project has helped the children with their psychomotor/co- ordination and has given them more confidence in themselves.”
“The students found this programme very exciting and interesting. We will look forward to more programmes like this in the future.”
“This programme enabled students to discover their own physical movement potential as well as an increased awareness of the significance of movements. Also this programme provided suitable medium for the application of theirs and concepts learned in the classroom.”
